LIDL OFFICE PARK
The concept of the design is a qualitatively new multifunctional public and business centre which blends openness to business, people, modern technologies, and respect for the environment and gives a new momentum to the life in a modern city. The visual orientation of the buildings designed and the public spaces towards the Neris River is suggested by the existing natural frame – the slope and the River, as well as by the integration and repetition of the elements of the existing postmodern building into the architecture of the Office Park.
While designing a coherent complex of separate buildings, one of the main tasks was to ensure a convenient and flexible planar structure of the offices there. The ultimate goal was to have a complex convenient to all ages that meets the demands of one and of several tenants.
Public spaces that serve the needs of the tenants, sports clubs and a restaurant that may be extended into an inner square are designed on the ground floors of the buildings. Offices are placed on the other floors. The planar structure of the complex secures optimal use of sunlight in the premises all day long and beautiful square and river views from the office windows. Workplaces are situated along external walls. The inner square where separate buildings meet can be used as the space of common use and informal meetings. The flexible planar structure offers plenty of possibility to have closed or open offices. Each floor can be easily divided into independent offices. The structure can vary from closed or semi-closed offices to an open office space as requested by the tenants. The height of the buildings can be adjusted to comply with the architectural requirements set by Vilnius Municipality.
